VCFA enhances local community and voluntary action by developing the capacity of Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCF) organisations in Bury to provide support and deliver quality services. We will do this through
h effective strategic engagement with our statutory partners and by forging alliances with local businesses and communities

Partnership and Networks: Thematic groups 

Community Safety Partnership

The Community Safety Partnership (CSP) is made up of representatives including:

  • Local authorities
  • Police
  • Fire & Rescue Service
  • Probation Trust
  • Clinical Commissioning groups

who work together to help reduce crime in the local community and help people feel safe.

The police cannot reduce crime on their own; therefore effective partnership working is essential. Each partner agency brings its own expertise, resources and understanding of the issues that affect the local community to the partnership. Working together allows for initiatives that tackle both the causes and effects of crime: and also reduces duplication of effort and the risk of partner agencies taking conflicting actions as well as reducing costs. The partnership has identified 4 priorities, these are: Protecting vulnerable people. Reducing crime and anti social behaviour Transforming justice  Building strong and resilient communities

Chief Officers Group

The Chief Officers group is for Sector engagement with Chief Officers to share and discuss issues, good practice and themes that are impacting the sector and to develop strategic responses to issues.

Children & Young People's Thematic Group

The children and Young People’s Thematic Group is a Voluntary & Community, Sector and statutory thematic forum for organisations working with children and young people to engage, network and discuss issues and themes that impact of the effective delivery of work within Voluntary & Community Sector sector and links with statutory service delivery

Bury Faith Forum

Bury Faith Forum is the thematic group for the interfaith work of faith based organisations engaged in social action work in Bury and supporting interfaith dialogue between Christian, Jewish and Islamic organisations along with Hindu, Sikh and other faith based groups.

Health Watch Disabilities thematic task and Finish

the thematic group is developed to discuss issues that impact on Voluntary sector organisations and how it impacts on service delivery to Bury resident.

Older People's Thematic Forum

Bringing together Voluntary Sector organisations working with Older People and the strategic themes from the older people’s agenda. Engagement with the Statutory sector and discussion of themes impacting on service delivery.

Bury BME AND Asylum and Refugees Network

Bury BME and Asylum seekers forum is two separate themes of BME & Asylum Seekers & Refugee groups and organisations coming together to discuss the issues and themes impacting service delivery and inter agency themes that impact organisational development

Mental Health Thematic Support group

Mental health thematic groups supports all organisations working to deliver mental health support to Bury Residents, it will discuss both strategic and local issues that impact of voluntary sector engagement and service delivery including commissioning and locality based working

Bury LGBT FORUM

To further or benefit the residents of Metropolitan Borough of Bury, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education in LGBT+ issues and to provide guidance in the interests of social welfare of LGBT+ people with the objective of improving the conditions of life and wellbeing for the residents.
