Volunteering

For Organisations

 

We support organisations to promote volunteering including advertising vacancies/opportunities, recruiting volunteers, managing & supporting volunteers and encourage good volunteer management practice.

VCFA will be able to promote volunteering vacancies and opportunities though our newsletter and social media on behalf of local VCF organisations in Bury. Our support includes

• Volunteers Role descriptions templates
• policies and procedures to support volunteers
• Promote and publicise volunteering opportunities on social media
• Brokerage – match volunteers to suitable opportunities.
• Promote volunteering at a strategic level and across sectors
• Monitor volunteering in Bury to recognise the economic contribution made by volunteers

For Volunteers

 

Bury VCFA is in the process of setting up our own local online volunteering matching/brokerage service.

There are 100’s of local community groups and charities in Bury that need volunteers to help support their activities, and you can make a difference by just giving 1 hour a month.

VCFA provides volunteering support to both volunteer-involving organisations (VIOs) and individual volunteers looking for opportunities.

VCFA support Volunteering in Bury in many ways including :

4. Voice of volunteering
5. Brokerage – matching volunteers to suitable opportunities

Celebrating Volunteering in Bury

A Bury VCFA event to celebrate and promote the work of Volunteers in Bury

Wednesday 27th March 2019 10.00am – 2.00pm

At The Elizabethan Suite, Knowsley Street, Bury BL9 0SW

You are invited to attend Bury VCFA’s volunteer event to celebrate and promote the amazing and diverse work that Volunteer Involved Organisations (VIOs) throughout Bury carry out.

 

Who is the event for?

This event is aimed at anyone who lives, works or studies within Bury who isinvolved with or would like to find out what volunteering in Bury can offer them.

 

 

 

What are we celebrating?

The amazing contribution of volunteers to the Bury Community,

There will be recognition for long serving volunteers of Bury VIOs. We. are looking for nominations for current volunteers with five or more year’s continuous service with their organisation. If you are a VIO with volunteers, or a volunteer, with five or more years’ service, please contact Bury VCFA to makea nomination.

What information will be available?

  • There will be over 40 VIOs present to show you the work they carry out in Bury.
  • Bury Council and partners who support VIOs will be on hand to talk about the support that they provide.
  • You will be able to find out about the benefits of volunteering and how this improves your wellbeing.
  • Learn about the type of volunteering opportunities that you can become involved with.
  • How you can get involved in volunteering with the help of Bury VCFA’s new on line facility.
