Culture Grant 2024 Bee Inclusive CIC  Bee Visible’ Project Bee Inclusive will facilitate a series of art workshops for Bury children/young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and their families. The project will celebrate and highlight our communities’ differences. This project will involve local artists and artists that specialise in working with individuals with SEND. We will involve artistic practices, ensuring the lived experiences, abilities and identities of disabled people are conveyed, explored and represented. The artwork will then be displayed in celebration at an exhibition where the SEND community and allies can celebrate the work and achievements whilst being represented in mainstream public art spaces. Culture Grant 2024 Art in Whitefield Creating Community Our project will celebrate culture and strengthen links across Whitefield supported by a network of partners and artists. A program of multidisciplinary projects and creative events has been designed to engage new audiences in the arts, utilising existing indoor and outdoor space; increasing participation and collaboration across Whitefield including vulnerable or deprived groups, those experiencing poor mental health, young people and families. To create a sustainable legacy, we will produce a report on sustainable space for art in Whitefield and create an online infrastructure. Culture Grant 2024 Early Bird / Collaborate Out Loud The Wonderbird Collaborate Out Loud CIC and Earlybird Project are coming together to combine their interests, energy and ideas to create The Wonderbird project. Inspired by the children’s book ‘The Wonderbird’ by David Lucas, we will develop an arts-based project to recognise and celebrate individuality whilst discovering the strength and value of community. We will:
– establish a group of early years creative citizens
– deliver creative arts workshops to explore identity and promote belonging and togetherness, co-designed with children to engage their imagination through storytelling and visual arts.
– document the project through a pop-up exhibition showcasing the impact of this creative community.

Culture Grant 2024 League of Curiosity League Youth programme The League Youth Programme aims to provide a free 12-week creative learning program that runs 4 times throughout the year; for young people aged 10 to 16 aimed at supporting young people who experience poor SEMH. Each workshop will last 2 hours with a total of 48 workshops in a 12 month period. The program focuses on working with young people and providing support to help them express the issues that matter to them through storytelling and creative thinking. Bury North £9,935
Culture Grant 2024 MAD Theatre My story, My Bury: Promoting Wellbeing through Drama and the Creative Arts We would like to run two 90 minute sessions per week in Radcliffe, the first session would be for women who have experienced poverty drug/alcohol abuse who are in recovery, and/or experienced domestic abuse.  The session would involve using arts, including drama, creative writing, poetry and arts and crafts to work through their recovery journey.  The second session would be for adults in the area who are experiencing poverty and multiple disadvantages using the arts to as a tool to improve confidence, literacy skills and access to quality education/ employment opportunities to improve their life chances. Culture Grant 2024 Circle of Inspirational Calm The Art of Your Mind The Circle of Inspirational Calm CIC propose to work in 3 localities across Bury to deliver creative arts, craft and family fun, music, and culture activities to specific identified groups. We will be working in the Prestwich/Whitefield area with the Jewish community, the Bury West in conjunction with Incredible Edible and the Ramsbottom area. Linking with the senior populations local luncheon clubs and the dementia café, D Caff. The project will hold 3 community fun days over 12 months incorporating the history and culture of Bury and its link with the community. The family events will include arts and craft actives for children and families going back in time to traditional skills, such as potato print art, mindful nature walk and the creation of natural mandala from leaves, flowers, and seeds. Storytelling and creative poetry sessions. We will also run 2 workshops for the senior events incorporating music of the era, creative writing, and handicrafts such as card making. Culture Grant 2024 Fair Futures This is My Story Our project will work with 10 newcomers to Bury from overseas to write their stories of how they came here and share with a school class.  We will interview the newcomers, assist in writing and editing their stories, with full regard to safeguarding and wellbeing.  We will also work with 10 classes in Bury schools where the children will explore the theme of identity. This work will be collected into a book.  The newcomer’s story will delivered in advance, to give the children time to ask questions before the visit.  The newcomer will receive the children’s book when they visit. Culture Grant 2024 ADAB BAME Communities in Bury ADAB will create multi level engagement programme which boost Borough’s Culture Strategy This fund will be used as a means of attracting people from the marginalised back grounds in Bury to join the programme.
– 10 Life stories told directly by elders from BAME communities
– 44 weeks – 2hours session of Bollywood music at the Mosses centre.
– 10 workshops to create a community Display of old photographs with BAME family history in Bury.
– 1 locally written and acted stage play on Lived experiences of south Asian community
– 2 showcase events Sharing of old films of Bury through the Bury Cine Society
– 2 Cultural awareness interactive concert with performances by local BAME artists

Culture Grant 2024 The BIG Fandango The Women who built Bury Textile Project A Quilting & story telling project for older women exploring the history of textiles in Bury and the women involved. Over 12 months we will create a space for women to come together to share stories of families working in the mills and the garment industries of Bury and the surrounding areas. This will culminate in series of workshops where we will turn the sharing of stories into a completed quilt using a variety of textile art techniques. The quilt will be displayed in Bury Art Museum in time for International Women’s Day , March 2025 Bury East £5,300
Culture Grant 2024 Ramsbottom Coop Hall Heritage Trust Rambottom Come Together Festival We are planning to deliver a one day music and arts festival on the 22nd of September 2024. The festival will be multi venue and multi genre with performances, workshops and exhibitions to attract people from all backgrounds and ages. Activities to include:
– Spoken word performances and workshops
– Music performance from various genres
– Brass bands to Techno House Written Word and Painting competition for primary schools
– Art and photography workshops and exhibitions

Culture Grant 2024 Happy Signs Community Singing Group Happy Signs Community Singing Group.
We will deliver an inclusive community singing group for the over 50’s. Our aim is to promote wellbeing and community through music. We are fully inclusive of those with physical and/or mental disabilities, including those living with dementia and their carers. The group will meet for an hour every week at Age UK Jubilee Centre in Bury and will be facilitated by a music therapist.

Culture Grant 2024 STARS The Art of Disability We intend to deliver facilitated projects incorporating physical, visual and performance art as well as a food-themed project. We will be using the services of local creatives, freelancers, community premises and local businesses to provide the necessary workshop instruction so that our project can bring money in to the businesses of Bury as well as benefitting people with disabilities and serving to raise awareness of disability in Bury in schools and businesses in the borough Bury East £3,149
Culture Grant 2024 BAME Burys Got Talent & Bury Mela Our project entails South Asian cultural experience with the aims to bring thepeople from Bury together to experience the arts, promote creativity,celebrate diversity and support cohesion. The project will also feature training and development opportunities. Culture Grant 2024 The Write Way Pigeons & Doves- Young Writers Pigeons and Doves is a structured writing initiative for young people in Bury with the libraries service. Each cycle consists of a 10 week programme of activity leading to a community authored publication alongside a summer school providing education and entertainment for under privileged young people. Following a successful 2022 launch we are developing the programme to offer consistency and progression routes. Having presented at the international 826 Valencia conference as a neurodiversity expert we have co-developed new strands with the international writer’s group which are ready for roll out in Bury in 2024.
