This morning, our Chief Officer Helen featured live on Roch Valley Radio’s Wednesday Community Spotlight segment to talk all things Bury VCFA!
Helen shared insight into how we support Bury’s incredible voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector – from large established charities to new grassroots groups.
She spoke about the practical help we offer to those starting out, including guidance on funding, governance, policies, bookkeeping and volunteer management. Helen also highlighted our growing training programme, tailored to help local organisations develop skills and confidence, and our work alongside external trainers to meet the diverse needs of our community sector.
With over 26,000 active volunteers across the borough, contributing an estimated 131,000 hours each week, Helen celebrated the invaluable role they play and spotlighted the Let’s Do It Strategy, which helps drive inclusion, tackle poverty, and support families through targeted grants.
