On Thursday 26th June 2025, we were delighted to host our Grants Celebration Event as part of #SmallCharityWeek – a fantastic opportunity to shine a light on the amazing work happening across our communities.
The event focused on:
🎉 Celebrating a year of local grant-making
🤝 Championing and supporting grassroots initiatives
💡 Inspiring change and connection across Bury
Our Chief Officer at Bury VCFA Helen Tomlinson, opened the event, along with special guest speakers including Councillor Noel Bayley and Mayor of Bury and Lynne Ridsdale: Chief Executive of Bury Council. A huge thank you to both for their inspiring words.
We also extend our thanks to the brilliant community groups who took part – The League of Curiosity, Jigsaw, and Red Rose Recovery – Project Free, who shared powerful stories about how their grant funding is making a real difference on the ground.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to our community bunting. Your reflections on what makes a healthy and happy community and what support you need – are vital in helping shape future funding and support.
Special thanks to Harrisons Catering for the delicious refreshments and to Walshaw Sports Club for providing such a welcoming venue.
