Silent Disco Family Hikes Prestwich |
This funding will allow us to offer two free Silent Disco Family Hikes taking place in Prestwich exploring St Marys Garden and The Clough. Each hike has a capacity of 50 participants and will last for 1.5 hours covering approximately 2 miles. Each participant will have a headset which links to three separate music playlist channels which is controlled by our hike leaders. Each channel will have a different family friendly music genre (Current ideas are Disney music, Party bops and popular child friendly viral music). Participants can then freely select and change which ‘station’ they wish to listen too as they go on their hike. Heart & Soul Dance Project |
We are excited to launch a Ukrainian traditional dance class for children aged 5–12. At the same time, parents can join a salsa class in the next room. Many Ukrainian families who have temporarily relocated to the UK consist of mothers and children, who often face challenges balancing after-school care and personal time. This program offers an opportunity for children to stay connected with their culture through dance, while their parents engage in an activity that supports both their physical and mental well-being. Our classes can accommodate 15 children, and while they enjoy learning Ukrainian dance, their parents can benefit from a salsa class that fosters community and self-care. |

Summer Fitness Festival |
The Summer Fitness Festival supports the health and wellbeing of disadvantaged young people in the Jewish community through inclusive, gender-separated sessions in St Mary’s Park. Group tennis sessions will promote physical health, teamwork, and social connection, reaching 50 young people (25 boys and 25 girls). The programme reduces social isolation, particularly for digitally excluded families, and encourages engagement with JAMH’s counselling services, providing pathways for short-term emotional and mental health support. Football for Fun |
Our youth club will run a 30-session non-competitive football tournament for Orthodox Jewish boys aged 11-18, focusing on inclusion and participation over competition. Many participants, especially those with neurodivergence, will experience being part of a team for the first time in a culturally sensitive, judgment-free environment. The program will foster confidence, resilience, and teamwork while promoting physical activity and social interaction.
