On Wednesday 11th June 2025, the Green Community Café in Clarence Park came alive with energy, conversation, and creativity as the Bury Age Without Limits event delivered a fantastic day of fun, learning and connection. Organised by the Bury Older People’s Network in collaboration with the Ageing in Place project, the event celebrated the talents and experiences of older people, while inviting the wider community to get involved. The packed programme featured Empathy Holistics’ Calm & Create sessions, handcycling, a friendly game of bowls, arts and crafts, and plenty of time for coffee and chat – proving that there’s something for everyone at every age.
Joanna, Chair of the Network, said:
“Age Without Limits is a national campaign to raise awareness about everyone having the best opportunities to enjoy a full life and Bury is a great place for us all to do that”
The Bury Older People’s Network (BOPN) aims to improve outcomes for older residents across all six townships of Bury.
Open to all with an interest in ageing well, the Network meets on the second Wednesday of each month at Bury Unitarian Church, from 11am to 12:30pm. Each meeting is followed by a complimentary cold buffet lunch and refreshments until 1:30pm – providing time to connect, share ideas and enjoy good company.
Upcoming meeting dates: Wednesday 9th July and Wednesday 10th September.
