Volunteer – Angela’s Story

One of the organisations which is supported by Bury VCFA is Transport for Sick Children, a local charity providing free transport for children to medical appointments. The collaboration with Bury VCFA led to the recruitment of two new trustees, showcasing the impactful role Bury VCFA plays in supporting local organisations.

The news came just before Trustees Week 2024 that Transport for Sick Children had managed to fill two vacant trustee positions. One of the new trustees, Angela, was directly recruited through Bury VCFA’s Volunteer Bank. Angela says:

“When I came to England from Hong Kong I thought I would be retired but I found that I still have lots of energy and spare time so am very happy to be using my previous experience to support the charity.”
